WHO WE ARE

Warroad Community Church is an inter-denominational Christian church and part of a relational network of churches that includes TrueBridge (www.truebridge.org) and Association of Related Churches (ARC) (www.arcchurches.com)

We are . . .

▪ Guided by Elders.
The elders refer to a team of men led by our Senior Pastor. This team is responsible for the development of the spiritual life of the church and oversees day-to-day ministry and operations.
- Gus Booth (Senior Pastor)
- Son Shaugabay
- Sam Rairdon

▪ Strengthened by Deacons.
The deacons refer to a team of men led by our Head Deacon, Steve Meek. This team is responsible for the physical buildings in which the church owns and helping our church members with their physical needs such as moving, lawn mowing, snow removal, etc.

▪ Protected by Overseers.
The overseers provide spiritual protection, accountability and mutual encouragement to the church. They are pastors of well-respected congregations and ministries who love our church and its leaders. Our overseers are consulted continually in many matters of church life and health. Overseers include Pastor Larry Dorman, Pastor Doug Wing and Jim McCracken as well as information from ARC (arcchurch.com).

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1. We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, perfect, and the final authority on all matters of life.

2. We believe that there is only one true God in the form of 3 persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are eternally existent and co-equal.

3. We believe that God created man in His image; that because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they lost their innocence and both they and their descendants (us) are separated from God. All human beings, with the exception of Jesus the Messiah, are sinners by nature at conception and are sinners in practice by disobedience.

4. We believe that putting your faith and trust in what Jesus has already done on the cross is the only way you will go to heaven. Jesus the Messiah, died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, that all who believe in Him are justified, not by any works of righteousness they have done, but by His grace. Jesus will also return in order to fulfill the prophesied purposes concerning His Kingdom.

5. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved who go to heaven and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost who go to hell.

6. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who has come to glorify Christ, to convict people of sin and to draw us to the Savior, Jesus. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells God’s children, gives new life, empowers believers for service, imparts spiritual gifts, enables believers to live a fruitful, holy and spirit-filled life, and guides God’s children into all truth.

7. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Warroad Community Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to Warroad Community Church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Warroad Community Church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Warroad Community Church. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:18-25; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Matthew 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31)

8. We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human Life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. (Psalms 130)

9. The statement of faith doesn’t exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning Truth, Morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final of all that we believe. For purposes of Warroad Community Church's faith, doctrine, practice, policy and discipline, our Elder Team is the organization’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

HOW DO I DISCOVER AND LIVE OUT GOD'S PURPOSE FOR MY LIFE

As a follower of Jesus, you’ll experience God’s best when you discover and live out God’s purpose for your life. Discovering and living out your purpose is a process. It starts with understanding how you are uniquely wired by God, and for what purpose.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

DISCOVER HOW GOD HAS UNIQUELY WIRED AND GIFTED YOU

• God made us all unique.
• God has given each of us a unique combination of natural aptitudes, strengths, abilities, character traits, and personality.
• He has also given us unique Spiritual Gifts and talents.

“However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.” Ephesians 4:7

LEARN MORE ABOUT SPIRITUAL GIFTS

What are Spiritual Gifts? Spiritual Gifts are supernatural abilities given by God to His people for accomplishing His purpose on the earth.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE NOT…

• Natural Aptitudes, Strengths or Abilities
We all have natural abilities that we’ve learned from those around us regardless of our Christian faith. Many times our natural abilities and strengths are redeemed by the Lord to become Spiritual Gifts.
• Character Traits
We are all called to have character and our gifts should produce the nature of Jesus Christ in each person. Spiritual Gifts offer opportunities for us to exemplify Christ.
• Titles or Positions
Spiritual Gifts often lead to titles or positions, but a person may have the gift without the role or the role without the gift. Regardless, we should serve whenever we are given the opportunity. Working in the area of your gifting will allow you to “be” the person that God has called you to be rather than just “doing” good things.
• Self- Promoting
Spiritual gifts are given for the glory of God, not for the glory of you.

TAKE A SPIRITUAL GIFTS ASSESMENT

• One of the ways to discover your Spiritual Gift is to use a tool to help you learn more about how God uniquely wired you.
• A Spiritual Gifts Inventory can help you discover what God wants to see you accomplish through serving God and others through your church.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

USE YOUR GIFTS - MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• The purpose of our Spiritual Gifts and talents is to serve God and others.
• God also gives us a calling to use our Spiritual Gifts and the unique combination of our talents for His Church.
• When we identify our Spiritual Gifs and talents, we can begin to learn more about and use or gifts for the purpose that they were given to us by God.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 (NLT)
